Another in my current eco-horror project is City of Trees in Black Glass Pages’ Issue 2: Survivors. In my defense, I know that Joshua trees are from the lily family and not trees at all. This knowledge does not, however, spare anyone. Digital copies available on the website here: Black Glass Pages.

Electric Literature Recommended Reading
In an extraordinary turn of events, my story from Sacramento Noir appears today in Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading magazine, recommended by John Freeman. I was honored to work with him. I am so happy to be included.
Sacramento Noir
My story “One Thing About Blue” is included in Akashic Books’ Sacramento Noir, available for purchase. The stories within are so good. I’m so glad to be included.
The Parade
“The Parade,” another (very short) story in the New Winter universe appears in Querencia Winter 2025 Anthology alongside a host of other wonderful writing.
The Cove
This story came out last summer in Cold Signal Magazine’s Pygmalion and Galatea issue. It’s a dual timeline story about a newcomer to a seaside community that is paying bloody homage to cosmic forces in hopes of forwarding their billionaire ambitions, and the far future folklorist trying to understand why the entire town fell into a giant sinkhole. I hope you like it.
Dear Mr. Sycamore
An epistolary story I wrote appears in the wonderful Chthonic Matter Quarterly Summer 2024 issue, available for order today on the publisher website and on Amazon.
The Saxophone Man
This flash piece in the wonderful Maudlin House was cribbed from a chapter of a novel I wrote a very long time ago about a young medium considering the ethics of using her talents for profit. I hope you like it!
The Librarian
The latest from my collection of stories about a new ice age and the re-emergence of ancient predators, insect mutations, and faery-tale creatures is up today in A Thin Slice of Anxiety. The main branch of the Sacramento Library is a sanctuary for a young man mourning the death of his parents who starts a radio broadcast with a musical calling card that attracts a woman who seems like the answer to his loneliness. I hope you like it.
Handed Down Poetry Is a Bull’s Eye, My Birth Was a Midnight Kiss
A wee flash I wrote from a memory of a girl I knew in Santa Cruz runs today in Flash Fiction Magazine. I hope you like it.
Queen of the Underground
A few years ago, Archive of the Odd published a “found document” story I wrote about a young grad student whose research into a homeless community leads her to a Sephora mall for answers about her own troubled childhood. It’s a foray into Reddit, NextDoor, Teen Vogue, and a crumpled note found in a hotel wastebasket. It’s available online for the first time, if you want to read it. There are faeries there, so watch out.
